Hi everyone~
I added the Impact thingie on my sidebar, got a little intrigued and started leaving comments, and now have decided to register here, too.
You guys all seem to be filled with love for Christ our Savior, as I am, and as brothers and sisters in Christ it is so nice to find hope and joy in the stories, comments and praises we can leave here. Or, on the other hand, to pray for one another or give encouragement when we experience testing by that lion who seeks to devour us, trials of living as a Christian in a secular world, or any other difficult times when it's just nice to vent.
A little of my story: I'm in my early 30's, just had my first child not too long ago, a little boy who's a year old and the light of my life; and I'm also blessed with a wonderful husband and a great church filled with like-minded people who love the Lord as we do. I'm lucky enough to work from home online for a company that makes baking and pasta mixes for people with multiple allergies, so I spend a lot of time on my computer, my little boy playing tug-of-war with the mouse!
The true miracle, however, is that only five years ago I was deeply involved in the drug world, selling, dealing and cooking meth; and had been on and off heroin for almost a decade. Sometimes I would clean up, try to find my way back to God, but always I would stray back to the evils of addiction and crime. It took going to prison and losing everything before I finally realized I was just killing myself, slowly and painfully.
I hit my knees one night in that penitentiary and got humble, honest and helplessly in need of Jesus... He answered me with that still, small voice- and I've been listening to it ever since. I still read the Word daily, am very active in my church, attend Bible studies online and here in town, and never forget how easy it would be to lose all the gifts I've been blessed with.
God has touched my heart and my life in ways drugs, sex, or money never ever could. I hope all you out there have that same awesome relationship with Him!
Please share with me who's who on here, or what led you to the Lord; I love fellowship in every way I can get it, and will join you in praise or prayer whenever invited.
May God bless you and keep you-
Kendra
p.s. I also ramble endlessly about this crazy, beautiful Christian life of mine on my little blog SoulDoubt:
